Summer Trip (Part V - Rome)

After spending a wonderful 2 pampered days in Naples, we continue our journey to Rome. There's a saying "Many roads lead to Rome". Yeah, never occur in my mind that I finally step my feet in Rome, the land of love, capital city of Italy, one of the oldest city in Europe. We take an early train from Napoli, we booked the ticket early and pay 9 euro for it. Giovanni called a taxi for us, to bring us to the train station. We paid 10 euro for the cab fare. It took only an hour and 10 minutes to get to Rome. Day 7 - When in Rome We arrived in Rome at 07.50, the sun is still sleeping, the wind blows the coldness of morning. We dragged our suitcase to our one last stop before we continue to explore other country (or going back to, for Mariella). We stayed in  GardenRome hostel (18.50euro/night/person). I had a 5 bed female dorm, with ensuite bathroom. Gardenrome hostel is an apartment that transformed into hostel. There are 3 rooms in this hostel, 4 bed dorm and 5 bed dorm, t...

Summer Trip (Part IV - Napoli)

What? Naples??? Why would you want to go there? they said it's really dangerous there.. Oh well, I can take care of myself, and anywhere can be dangerous, even you can die when you sleep :p So here I am in Napoli.. I took the first train from Pisa to Napoli, it was a really long 6 hours train trip, not to mention that the train in Italy is not on time, in addition to the 6 hours trip, the train stopped in the middle of nowhere for more than an hour, so we got there around 2ish instead of 1 as planned. Day 6 - Finally Napoli Napoli aka Naples (means new town), is the capital of Campania and the third largest municipality in Italy after Rome and Milan. Naples was the most bombed city during world war II. Despite it's bad reputation concerning the mafia, Naples has really a lot to offer, like Pompeii (The ruins of vesuvio mountain, we'll get there later), the gorgeous port, buildings, and not to mention the pizza. Yes, Pizza!!! Pizza is originally come from Napoli, my ...

Summer Trip (Part III - Pisa & Cinque Terre)

Yup and the journey continue.. After a long tiring day in Florence we had a good night sleep, I bought pasta from Supermarket and cook it at the hostel, so we finally have some proper dinner and get a good night sleep. Oh yeah you still remember the previous post  when I told you the hotel has no air conditioner and it's hot summer, but well don't worry. At night it's not that warm, it's actually quite cold in the hostel. Day 5 - Morning Train to Pisa We take the morning train from Florence to Pisa, you don't have to book in advance for this one, the ticket cost 7.80 euro and the journey take 1 hour. Pisa the city of leaning tower, one of the famous symbol of Italy, but we're here not to see the leaning tower. Instead we want to go to Cinque Terre (The 5 lands), five seaside village with an extra ordinary view. Cinque Terre is located near La Spezia, to get there you have to take the train from Pisa to La Spezia (7euro one way). At La Spezia you can find t...
