Barcelona

I went to Barcelona for 3 days, with my friend. This trip is so last minutely so the plane ticket is kinda expensive around 200 euro round trip. But the rest of the trip were cheap, I think I spent around 300 euro for this trip. Here's the details.

Day 0 - Sleeping in Airport
We took an extra early Transavia flight from Amsterdam Airport 06.05 in the morning. Since we don't have car and count on public transportation, we decided to sleep in Airport, it's my very first time experience sleeping in Airport. Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is quite comfortable to sleep in, in boarding area (it's advisable to check in online so you can enter the boarding area) you can see some recliner near the restaurant area, and also sofa which you can lay down. It was quite quiet in the midnight but after 3ish people start to come and it's getting noisy. But if you're not checked in yet, you can find some quiet place on 2nd floor to sleep, but no recliner whatsoever so you have to sleep on the floor

Day 1 - Finally Barcelona
La Ramblas
It's been a dream for me to go to Barcelona capital city of Catalonia, second largest city in Spain, and house of one of the famous football club FC Barcelona. Land of the handsome latinos guy (which is a lie, because I didn't find any cute guy in Barcelona). We arrived at 08.15 after 2 hours long flight, which I slept through. After we arrived in the airport we took an AeroBus cost 5.3 euro to Plaça de Catalunya, and walk to the Hostel. We can't check in yet, so we went there to drop our bags and continue our journey. We stayed at Hostal Fernando and paid 23 euro a night including breakfast. Hostal Fernando located near La Ramblas, one of the most famous "Shopping Area" in Barcelona. After we dropped our bag we continue our Journey to explore Barcelona and see the old gothic building and some of the gaudi's buildings. Our first destination is La Sagrada Familia, a large Roman Catholic church designed by Gaudi. Although incomplete, the church is one of the UNESCO world heritage site. We walked to the Sagrada, sounds crazy I know, but it's not that far, and as you walk, you can see some of the famous building, like Barcelona Cathedral, Arc de Triomf, and some of random beautiful old buildings that I don't know what the name is :p

Random Building
After we visited Sagrada, we found a supermarket and bought some sandwich for our lunch, well that's a backpacker life, we bought 2 euro sandwich and some water to drink, and after that we found an asian store, so we bought some noodles for dinner. After we had our lunch we continue walking to enjoy beautiful buildings in Barcelona, like casa batllo and la padrera. One thing I don't like about Barcelona is the buildings are quite messy, it's like there's a modern building next to beautiful Gaudi-Designed building, so you have to walk quite far just to see a building.. oh well it's a great workout I guess :p

La Padrera
Casa Batllo
After seeing all those beautiful buildings my feet got sore and we got tired, so we decided to go back to the hostel first to check in and get a little bit rest before we continue our journey to Plaça Espanya to see the famous magic fountain show in Montjuic. It's possible to walk from La Ramblas to Plaça Espanya but we're just too tired. So we decided to take a Metro to go there. We bought the T-10 ticket from the machine (9.80euro). T-10 is multi-person ticket valid for 10 journeys, valid for 75 minutes after first validation. So if you travel with 2 person, each person can use 5 of it, which is quite cheap compared to transportation fare in Netherlands. When we got there, the place is quite full with people and the fountain show was about to started. The fountain show usually start when the sun sets, so you can see the beautiful light, etc. But don't worry if you arrive early you can visit the other part of Montjuic like the MNAC or other museum located around there. Or just do what I did, went to a building in front of it and went to the top with elevator (pay 1euro) where you can see Barcelona from top

Banyuwangi.. (and a little bit of Surabaya)

It's been a while since the last time I updated this blog. This time I want to share about my trip to Banyuwangi , East Java. The Regency of Banyuwangi is located at the easternmost end of the Indonesian island of Java. It serves as a port between Java and the island of Bali. Banyuwangi is separated by Strait of Bali from Bali. Why Banyuwangi? I know it's not one of the main tourist destination, but apparently it has a lot to offer, i t is surrounded by mountains and forests to the west; by sea to the east and south, and not to mention cheaper accommodation compared to Bali. You can go to Banyuwangi using airplanes, or just like me go to Surabaya first and then drive around 5-6 hours to Banyuwangi. I used tour operator Amazing Banyuwangi for this trip, but apparently they are very unprofessional, they tricked us so we ended up had to pay more for the "All Inclusive Private" trip they offered on the website. Anyway long story short let me tell you about how gorgeous...

Summer Trip (Final Part - Prague I'm in Love)

Prague, the capital and largest city of Czech Republic. It's also the historical capital of Bohemian proper . Situated in the north-west of the country on the Vltava river, the city is home to about 1.3 million people, while its larger urban zone is estimated to have a population of nearly 2 million. The city has a temperate oceanic climate, with warm summers and chilly winters. Not much people know about Prague, that's why they questioned me why I would go to Prague all by myself, well after this post I'm sure you will love Prague as much as I do. Day 16 - Finally Prague After a sleepless night at Milan Airport, and a morning flight to Prague. I finally arrived in Prague, one of my favorite city in Europe.    Oh yeah, you don't have to change the currency (EUR to CZK) at the airport, you can just use the ATM, and take money from there (It's cheaper considering the fee they asked in airport). But since I didn't know it before I get a pretty good rate at Milan...
